What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site work, remember your choices, and (with your consent) measure how the site is used.
Cookies we use
1. Essential cookies (always on)
- ht_cookie_choice - remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies, so we don't ask again. Expires after 12 months.
- PHPSESSID - a session cookie used only when you log in to a Hampton Travel account or admin area. Keeps you signed in securely. Deleted when you close your browser.
These are strictly necessary for the site to function and do not require consent under PECR.
2. Analytics cookies (only with your consent)
- _ga, _ga_* - Google Analytics 4. Help us understand which pages visitors find useful and how they reach us, so we can improve the site. These are set ONLY if you press "Accept all" on our cookie banner. _ga expires after 13 months.
Google Analytics data is aggregated and does not identify you personally to us. Google's own privacy information is at policies.google.com/privacy.
3. Third-party cookies on payment pages
- GoCardless - if you pay by bank through our account top-up flow, GoCardless (our regulated payment provider) may set cookies on its own checkout pages to process your payment securely. See gocardless.com/privacy.
Our website chat assistant runs entirely in your browser and sets no cookies.
How to manage or disable cookies
- Use our cookie banner: choose "Essential only" to decline analytics cookies. Your choice is remembered for 12 months.
- To change a previous choice, clear this site's cookies in your browser and revisit - the banner will ask again.
- You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings (Settings → Privacy). Blocking essential cookies may stop account login from working.
