Terms & Conditions

Effective from 28 July 2020
These Terms apply to individual bookings by consumers. If you have a Hampton Travel corporate prepaid account, the Corporate Prepaid Account Terms apply to journeys booked under that account.

Booking with Hampton Travel Ltd

Hampton Travel Ltd ("The Company") is a Coventry-licensed private hire operator. These Terms and Conditions apply to individual bookings made by consumers via https://hamptontravel.co.uk, by phone on 0800 061 4661, or by email at info@hamptontravel.co.uk.

By placing a booking you enter into a legal contract on these Terms. The Company may amend these Terms from time to time; the version in force at the time of your booking is the version that applies to your booking.

Age

You must be 18 or over to place a booking. Bookings on behalf of minors must be placed and paid by an accompanying adult.

Payment

  • Accepted methods: credit/debit card, bank transfer, GoCardless Instant Bank Pay.
  • Cards must be in the name of the customer placing the booking.
  • Card validation is completed before transport is offered.
  • Receipt and booking confirmation are emailed on payment.
  • Hampton Travel Ltd is not VAT-registered. No VAT is charged and none is reclaimable.

The quoted fare

  • The fare quoted at booking is fixed and binding on the Company.
  • The fare will only change if you change the journey details after booking (pickup, dropoff, additional stops, additional passengers or luggage), or you are late beyond the free waiting period.
  • Airport set-down and drop-off fees, tolls, bridge and ferry charges are pass-through costs. Where applicable they are added to your fare at the rate published by the airport or authority and are not retained by the Company as profit.

Luggage

One full-sized suitcase and one piece of hand luggage per passenger is included. Extra luggage or bulky items (baby carriages, golf clubs, boxes, skis, surf boards, trunks) must be disclosed at booking. Failure to disclose may result in refusal to carry (no refund) or a vehicle-class upgrade at the applicable fare difference.

Airport transfers

Inbound flights

The Company will not be liable for unavoidable delays affecting the vehicle or driver meeting an incoming flight. Your remedy in this event is a refund of the fee paid. You must allow reasonable flexibility for weather, traffic, and other events outside the Company's control.

Delayed inbound flights

If airport systems convey delay information in good time, the driver will adjust to the amended arrival time. The Company may at its discretion substitute driver and/or vehicle if the delay exceeds 1.5 hours. If a delay or diversion is notified too late, waiting time is charged at £45.00 per hour after the first free hour, or you may use an alternative service and remain liable for a call-out fee.

Set-down fees

Airport drop-off fees are added at the airport's published rate. These are collected on behalf of the airport, not retained by the Company.

Children

In private hire vehicles, children aged 3 and under may travel on an adult's lap provided the adult wears a seat belt. Children over 3 must occupy a seat with a belt. Every child, of any age, is treated as an individual passenger by UK licensing authorities. Child seats are provided only on request. You are welcome to bring and fit your own; the driver will store and reuse it for a return journey free of charge.

Cancellations

  • Cancellation more than 12 hours before scheduled pickup: 100% refund.
  • Cancellation less than 12 hours before scheduled pickup: 50% cancellation fee, 50% refund.
  • No-show (fail to appear within 20 minutes of scheduled pickup at the agreed location without notice): 100% retained.
  • Booking on the wrong day or time and failing to notify us at least 12 hours before the scheduled time: no refund.

Cancellation terms are shown on the booking form and repeated on the booking confirmation email.

Changes to your booking

The Company will always try to send the vehicle you booked. Where unforeseen operational circumstances require a change, the Company will notify you if possible. The Company will always try to collect you at the booked time; during busy periods pickup may move by up to ten minutes either side of the agreed time, and you will be notified.

Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits the Company's liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Company, its employees or agents;
  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
  • any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited under English law.

Subject to the above:

  • The Company is not liable for any delay or failure due to causes beyond its reasonable control.
  • The Company's total liability arising out of any single booking is limited to the fare paid for that booking.
  • The Company is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including missed flights, missed appointments, loss of profit or reputational loss.

Contractors and sub-contractors

The Company may use sub-contracted drivers. Where a booking is made under the Company's Coventry private hire operator licence, the Company remains responsible to you for the licensed conduct of that booking.

Right to refuse

The Company may refuse future bookings from any customer whose past conduct has included abuse or threats towards drivers, damage to vehicles, or non-payment.

Data protection

The Company processes personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. See the Privacy Policy for how data is collected, stored, and used. Data protection enquiries: info@hamptontravel.co.uk. Customer data is not sold to third parties.
